QLD/NSW BORDER: IS THERE HOPE FOR EASED RESTRICTIONS?

It’s not much, but there might be some good news for those living on the Queensland/New South Wales border soon – with the Queensland Government edging towards the possibility of easing restrictions.
The state’s deputy premier today acknowledging the closure is having a disproportionate impact on people in border communities.
“We’ve had an approach from the Deputy Premier of New South Wales to work with them to collaborate on border arrangements so that we can reduce the impacts of them on their community,” Queensland Deputy Premier, Steven Miles, said.
The New South Wales government continues to reject a proposal to move the border south to the Tweed River.
