MAN ALLEGEDLY THREATENS STAFF DURING VACCINATION APPOINTMENT
A man’s been charged after allegedly picking up a bag of glass bottles and swinging it towards staff and customers during his vaccination appointment at Jesmond.
Just before 5pm on Friday last week, the 54-year-old went in to a pharmacy on Blue Gum Road to get vaccinated but was refused entry because he wasn’t wearing a mask.
He returned later, wearing one, but when staff asked him for details before his vaccination, he allegedly became verbally aggressive.
He was asked to leave and that’s when he’s accused of picking up the bag and swinging it in the direction of people inside the store.
He eventually left and was later arrested at his Jesmond home.
He’s been charged with affray and failing to comply with the health order and faces court today.
