ARMIDALE COUNCIL SEEKS FUNDING FOR ‘HEALTHY WINTER AIR STRATEGY’

Armidale Regional Council says it’s seeking government funding to develop a ‘Healthy Winter Air Strategy’.

The campaign is hoped to clean-up the city’s air, which has long been polluted by woodfire heaters.

A local study recently revealed 14 Armidale residents die prematurely every year, from the impacts of their smoke.

The strategy is hoped to provide potential solutions.
