MORE THAN $30k RAISED FOR LAKE MACQUARIE MAN WHO LOST HOME TO FIRE

More than $30,000 has been been raised on a ‘go fund me’ page for a Lake Macquarie man, whose home was destroyed by fire on Thursday.

In a generous outpouring of support, the Dudley community has banded together for local identity Barry Grant – it’s believed his house wasn’t insured.

He also lost one of his two much-loved dogs, Mini, in the blaze.

Barry, who is staying with a neighbour until he can find accommodation, says he is very touched, with $34,000 raised so far.
