SYDNEY MAN BUSTED AT QLD/NSW BORDER WITH 145KG OF CANNABIS
A Sydney man has been charged after allegedly trying to enter Queensland with more than $1 million dollars worth of cannabis.
Just before 9 o’clock last night, the 48-year-old man was intercepted by police at the New South Wales border checkpoint, and didn’t have a valid permit.
Following investigations, police realised he had fled Sydney’s lockdown, and was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital for COVID testing.
His van was also searched, where police found 145 kilograms of cannabis.
He was refused bail at Tweed Heads Local Court today, and will reappear in October.
