SON ALSO CHARGED IN BYRON BAY COVID BREACH

The teenage son of a man whose visit to Byron Bay sent the region into lockdown has also been charged by police.
52-year-old Zoran Radovanovic from Rose Bay was charged earlier this week for breaching the public health order by travelling from Sydney to Byron with his sons in late July.
Mr Radovanovic is being treated for COVID-19 in Lismore Base Hospital and his positive diagnosis sparked a week-long lockdown for the shire.
He allegedly claimed he was looking for real estate, which is permitted under the health order.
He then spent time in Byron and its surrounding areas while symptomatic and allegedly failed to use QR codes to check-in to venues.
Police this morning revealed they had also issued his 19-year-old son with a court attendance notice for four offences.
The charges include failing to comply with noticed direction – COVID-19 (individual), two counts of failing to comply with electronic registration directive – individual, and not wearing a fitted face covering in public transport/taxi.
He is due to appear in Byron Bay Local Court on September 27.
