NEW SOUTH WALES RECORDS ANOTHER RISE IN CASES
New South Wales has set another record, with 390 new COVID cases identified overnight.
Of those, at least 101 were in the community for all or part of their infectious period.
The state also recorded two deaths – a vaccinated man in his 90s in palliative care at the Edgeworth Masonic retirement home and a woman in her 40s who died in her Cabramatta home in Sydney.
The Hunter New England district has recorded five new cases overnight, all with links to previously reported cases.
Four are in the Hunter, one is in Armidale.
Here’s a breakdown of those new cases:
Armidale recorded one new case, and while there were no new cases in Tamworth, fragments of the virus have been detected the city’s sewage system.
There is confusion over the number of cases in western New South Wales overnight, but the numbers have since been clarified.
25 new cases in total in the hours to 9am this morning – 22 of those are in Dubbo.
Additionally, two women – aged 20 and 21 – with a history of non-compliance with health orders have been charged with breaching them for allegedly travelling from Sydney to Newcastle.
