FAKE ADDRESS CHANGE CAUGHT IN HUNTER REGION
Service New South Wales has warned it’s an offence to swap the address on your driver’s license to somebody else’s, following an increase in suspicious activity.
Cessnock resident Jill Hall received a change of address letter this week, in somebody else’s name.
“When I reported it to Service New South Wales, they indicated the big problem, was that people are now changing their address online to a person’s outside of a hotspot, so that they can travel around the Hunter unchallenged.” – Jill Hall, Cessnock resident.
Service New South Wales says penalties of up to $2,200 apply to anyone caught breaking the law.
