NEW SOUTH WALES RECORDS 207 NEW COVID CASES
New South Wales has recorded 207 new cases of COVID overnight, from more than 117,000 tests, setting a new testing record.
Sadly, the state also recorded another death – a man in his 90s who had received one dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine earlier this year.
50 of today’s new cases were infectious while out in the community.
Public health physician, Dr Kerry Chant, says several new cases have emerged in workplaces, urging people to wear masks and stay vigilant.
Meanwhile, the New South Wales Premier has defended a decision to redirect Pfizer jabs from Newcastle and the Central Coast to vaccinate HSC students in Sydney.
“We are all in this together,” Gladys Berejiklian said this morning. “Reducing the number of cases in community helps all of us.”
