NATIONAL TREE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Hundreds of volunteers pulled on their gardening gloves today, to plant more than 1,000 trees across the Far North Coast.
The aim is to eventually restore habitat for species like koalas – whose homes have been destroyed by bushfires and land clearing in recent years.
This year’s National Tree Day effort adds to a whopping 26 million planted across Australia in the past 25 years.
