170 NEW COVID CASES RECORDED IN NEW SOUTH WALES

Greater Sydney has recorded a sharp drop in COVID cases overnight, with 170 new infections detected.

That’s down from a record high of 239 yesterday.

42 of today’s positive cases were infectious while out in the community and 95,000 people came forward to get tested in the past 24 hours.

The New South Wales Premier has warned us to expect these figures to “bounce around” and again urged eligible people to get themselves vaccinated.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has stressed that nobody should come to Sydney tomorrow to protest against the lockdown.

“If you do, you will be met by up to 1000 police who will be ready to deal with you.”
