BUSHFIRE DANGER PERIOD IN SOME LOCAL TOWNS STARTING SOON

A handful of New England and North West towns will be on alert for bushfires from this Sunday.

Armidale, Walcha, Uralla, Glen Innes, Inverell and Tenterfield will all need permits to light any fires.

While the bushfire danger period will start in October for Tamworth residents.
