MAN WHO FLEW FROM SYDNEY TO BALLINA CHARGED NEARLY $10K

A man who fled Sydney lockdown and flew to Ballina has been fined almost $10,000.
The 26-year-old was driven into Queensland by a flight attendant – with the pair later testing positive to COVID-19.
Police allege the man attended shops in Chermside using false information to check-in.
It’s also alleged that while in hotel quarantine in Brisbane, he verbally abused staff while not wearing a mask.
He has since been placed into hospital quarantine.
