Glen Innes product Alex Newsome scored his first Super Rugby try overnight, as part of the Western Force’s starting side in New Zealand.
The 22 year old took an intercept, and ran 60 metres to touch down in the Perth team’s 45-17 loss to the Crusaders.
He now hopes to hold his spot for the Force’s clash with the Blues in Auckland next Saturday.
