MIDCOAST CANDIDATES HITTING THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

Candidates are starting to hit the campaign trail ahead of local government elections.

The Greens took to the streets of Wingham today to rally community support for their bid to join MidCoast Council.

It’s the first time the party has run a ticket in the local government area.

“The environment is so important to this local area and with the amalgamation of council it’s really important that there’s an environmental voice among those 11 councillors,” Greens candidate Dheera Smith said.

Nominees can officially lodge their applications from July 26.

Voters head to the polls on September 4.
