A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital under police guard, after a crash at Cessnock this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of King and Cooper Streets shortly after 3 o’clock, where the bike and a car had collided.
The man allegedly ran away before police arrived, and was arrested on nearby Cumberland Street.
He was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
