CHAFFEY DAM REACHES HIGHEST CAPACITY IN OVER THREE YEARS

Consistent rainfall has boosted Tamworth’s water catchments in recent weeks.
Chaffey Dam has reached its highest capacity in over three years – rising to just under 80 percent yesterday.
It’s expected to hit the mark by the end of the week.
It’s a far cry from this time last year, when the dam dwindled to 15-point-1 percent.
Supply has been helped by encouraging inflows from the Peel River, with more precipitation expected over the next few days.
“Wet weather and snow has made the catchment extremely wet and of course, any rain that comes after thereafter is actually packing a punch, it’s running straight off the moist soil and into the dam.”
