A Newcastle house has been destroyed, after fire tore through the derelict building.
Fire crews were called to Marsden Street at Shortland just after 9 o’clock this morning.
The property next door was under threat, but firefighters managed to out the flames before it was damaged.
No one was injured.
Police are investigating the incident.
