TRAIN TRACKS TO GO IN TWEED SHIRE TO MAKE WAY FOR RAIL TRAIL

Train tracks in Tweed Heads will be ripped up to make way for the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
Tweed Shire Councillors voted overnight to award an $11.8 million contract to tender Hazell Bros, despite protestors showing their opposition.
The 132 kilometre bike and walking pathway will connect Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek.
Construction is expected to commence later this year.
