A man in his 40s has been injured after a three-vehicle crash at Lake Macquarie this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the M1 near Killingworth just before 4pm.
The man was trapped for some time, but has been rescued, and is now being treated for injuries.
He’s expected to be transported to John Hunter Hospital.
All southbound lanes of the motorway were closed, but have since been re-opened.
