Independent Lismore City Council candidate, Sally Flannery, has announced she will not be contesting the September ballot.
Miss Flannery says months of bullying and intimidation has taken a toll on her health.
There are currently three nominees for the top job with Big Rob, Elly Bird and Darlene Cook each running for mayor.
Residents will head to the polls for the local government elections on September 4.
