MAN FOUND WITH $2 MILLION WORTH OF COCAINE
A man on the north coast has been charged with commercial drug supply after police found more than six kilograms of cocaine inside his vehicle.
The cocaine has an estimated street value of more than $2 million.
Police saw the man travelling in a gold Nissan X-Trail allegedly at speed on the M1 near Bangalow.
Officers stopped the vehicle and searched inside, where they located a vacuum sealed bag of cocaine, and cash.
The 24-year-old was taken to Byron Bay Police Station and charged with large commercial drug supply, deal with the proceeds of crime and exceed speed more than 10km/hr.
Later officers, with the assistance of the dog unit, located a further five packages of cocaine concealed in a speaker box and under the rear seats.
Further charges are expected to be laid.
He’s been bail refused to face Lismore Local Court tomorrow.
