BALLINA’S MOMENTUM COLLECTIVE LAUNCHES FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR DV REFUGE
Ballina support service, Momentum Collective, has launched a fundraising campaign to keep the doors open at its refuge for women and children.
Organisers say a lack of affordable housing in the region is creating a demand bottleneck.
“We are needing more ongoing funding, we need to head lease more property, we need to come up with a solution in the Ballina area around how to safely accommodation women and children if they choose to leave violence,” Service Director, Sarah Dybing, said.
Momentum Collective helps more than 130 women and children escape domestic and family violence each year.
