WARMER WINTER PREDICTED ACROSS INLAND NEW SOUTH WALES
Meterologists have predicted a warmer-than-usual winter across the north-west.
The Bureau’s Climate Outlook has indicated night-time temperatures will be higher than average.
Professionals say it’s largely due to increased rainfall and warmer waters in the country’s north, which could funnel down through the state.
“Major climate drivers are now neutral and are forecast to remain neutral throughout winter, so, more local influences such as warmer sea surface temperatures to Australia’s north may be having more of an influence.”
But, it comes after the region shivered through a chilly autumn, which recorded minimum temperatures of one to two degrees below average.
Residents, yet to see any signs of a temperature rise.
“It’s been pretty, bloody cold here… yeah. We’ve had some frost.”
