Federal Member for Page, Janelle Saffin says she will support 12 local landholders fighting to stop a mining company from looking for gold in their backyards.
Land west of Kyogle has been earmarked for exploration by Dexon Resources Number Three, an antimony and gold mining company.
“We don’t need Gold Mining and we certainly don’t need them in our rivers and our prime agricultural land.”
The mining threat comes just a month after coal seam gas company, Metgasco withdrew from the region.
