Plans have been lodged with Tamworth Regional Council to build a $7.7 million cannabis farm near the city.
Cann Pharmaceutical says the project would use advanced greenhouse technology to produce medicinal cannabis.
The company says the plant would be used to treat conditions such as epilepsy and autism.
It would be monitored 24/7 by security guards and CCTV.
The proposal includes a manufacturing facility, drying area – as well as a packing and distribution centre.
