FLIGHT FROM VICTORIA LANDS IN BALLINA HOURS AFTER LOCKDOWN ANNOUNCEMENT

Dozens of people have escaped Victoria just hours before the state enters its seven day lockdown.

Jetstar flight JQ464 touched down at the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport shortly before 2pm.

Passengers were masked-up on the flight, with many ditching the face covering once they left the terminal.

Another flight is expected to land in Ballina from Melbourne tomorrow afternoon.
