The Far North Coast will be home to more than 200 of Australia and New Zealand’s top surfers next month.
The state government has green-lighted the Tweed Coast Pro, expected to draw in 10,000 fans.
The seven-day competition will be the final qualifying series event on this year’s World Surf League calendar.
