25 YEARS ON FROM PORT ARTHUR MASS SHOOTING
Byron Bay resident Walter Mikac has reflected on the loss of his wife and daughters 25 years on from their death in the Port Arthur mass shooting.
The pharmacist and founder of the ‘Alannah and Madeline Foundation’ successfully lobbied the government with others for strict gun laws.
Speaking to the ABC, Mr Mikac said he wished the senseless shooting also sparked change in America.
32 people were killed in the 1996 massacre.
