CALLS TO STOP TRANSFER OF PUBLIC SERVICE JOBS

There are calls for the state government to halt its plans to transfer 40 public service jobs from Maitland to Gosford.

Office of State Revenue staff today marched to local Labor MP Jenny Aitchison’s office, in protest.

“Save our jobs! Save Maitland!”

The Member for Maitland is circulating a petition, calling for the decision to be reversed.

“We’re hoping that the petition will draw the attention of the community, that small businesses, members of the community will realise that we’re going to have a huge economic loss of all these jobs,” said Ms Aitchison.
