NURSES FOCUS OF AUSTRALIAN FIRST HEALTH AND WELLBEING STUDY

In an Australian first, the health and wellbeing of nurses will be the focus of a six-month study.

It’s being run by Southern Cross University, who say it’s about time the profession gets the TLC it deserves.

  1. I agree. I have been a RN for 32 years. Shift work has affected health of many of my collegues. Shift work does not allow us to have a life balance. It is difficult to join exercise programs ie Gym as we may not get to many sessions, if we are not busier enough at work we come home usually to a busy family life and no time for our own health.

  2. I agree. I have been an RN for 32 years. Shift work has affected the health of many of my collegues. Shift work does not allow us to have a life balance. It is difficult to join exercise programs ie Gym as we would pay for the sessions and not make it to many, so we tend not to enroll. We go from a busy work environment to a busy home front. Now that I have a regular hour position, I find I am now sitting in a car for long intervals which could lead to health problems from being inactive. So have to be especially wary of my health

  3. medication endorsed enrolled nurse i agree with the film clip stress is a big factor and dare i say it being able to drink enough through a busy shift and go to the loo also become health issues as years go buy and agree with Rosann
