NSW GOVERNMENT SUPPORT ON THE WAY TO BLUESFEST ORGANISERS

The painstaking pack-up of one of the Northern Rivers’ biggest events is continuing at the Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm this week.
Byron Bay’s Bluesfest was cancelled by New South Wales Health within 24 hours of gates opening to ticketholders last Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the State Government is finalising details of a financial lifeline to the festival’s organisers.
“The cancellation of Bluesfest was devastating for the artists, organisers and local community. The State Government understands this and we will be providing a significant package of financial support for the event,” Parliamentary Secretary for the Arts, Ben Franklin MLC, said.
NBN News understands the rescue package will be announced imminently.
