WASTE SERVICE FACILITIES CLOSE TO GENERAL PUBLIC

Lake Macquarie Council has closed its Awaba Waste Management Facility to the general public, in line with government restrictions on non-essential travel.

Council has responded to several comments made by concerned residents online.

“The site is still open for waste collection trucks, for commercial contractors, and small businesses to attend and dispose of waste here.” – Paul Collins, Lake Macquarie Council Waste Services Manager.

There will be no changes to kerbside collection.

“If it’s bulk waste, please store it in readiness for the next bulk waste collection.”

Other waste sites have also closed to the public in the region, including facilities at Singleton and Dungog.
