It’s the gem of Gloucester and today the town’s park celebrated a significant milestone.
The community, uniting to commemorate 100 years since the patch of land was transformed into a treasured public space.
An ornamental pear tree was planted to mark the occasion.
Political infighting almost prevented the purchase of the park in 1915 which council bought for close to 1500 pounds.
The area has stood the test of time and is still widely enjoyed by residents and tourists.
