A decrease in coal exports is being felt in the Port of Newcastle, with the company recording a drop in trade.
About 158 million tonnes of coal was exported through the port last year, a 0.6% drop from 2014.
The port says the decrease in coal exports is a reflection of current difficult market conditions.
Meantime, the port recorded a more than 25% increase in fuel trade and a 120% increase on the import and export of meals and grains, with almost 423,000 tonnes moved through last year.
