LABOR LOOKS FOR CANDIDATE FOR UPPER HUNTER BY-ELECTION

The Opposition is yet to name its candidate for the Upper Hunter by-election.
The date for the poll is also yet to be determined.
“Obviously now we begin the process of looking for a candidate, someone that our people can trust and know will work very hard for them.” – Jodi McKay, NSW Opposition Leader (ALP)
“People who are angry and frustrated and disappointed with their representation, if they get a chance to pass judgement on that by way of an election, by way of some sort of quasi-referendum, it’s difficult to know where they would channel their anger and frustration.” – Clayton Barr, Shadow Minister for the Hunter (ALP)
It’s not yet clear who the Nationals will field either – they have never lost the seat.
