EVACUTION WARNINGS, SUPPLIES DELIVERED AND CLEAN UP BEGINS IN FLOOD AFFECTED TOWNS

A number of towns across New South Wales are still affected by floodwater.

Some residents remain completely isolated, as supplies are dropped off and the clean up begins.

NBN News has a number of crews on the ground in these areas.

Northern Region

Reporter Georgia Schefe in Lismore:
“The pumps are activated at Maclean, emptying water from roads into the Clarence River. The river level here has also risen much more since yesterday.”

“Ray was holidaying in Yamba with his caravan, but had to leave town to take his wife to the airport. Now, he can’t get back in. His caravan is stranded. So, he’s going to sit it out. “Got nowhere else to be, but an eski and some spag bol in the ute, so I’ll be right”

Mid North Coast
Reporter Alison Paul at Coffs Harbour: 
“People out and about on the Coffs Coast today enjoying this glorious weather! Top of 30 forecast and I don’t think anyone’s complaining about that!
Reporter Mia Tyquin at Port Macquarie:
“These donated fuel cans are right now on the way to the North Shore to keep all the generators running. The community remains cut off from Port Macquarie.”
Meanwhile, a compulsory evacuation order is still in place for the North Shore. Some residents have chosen to stay to begin the huge cleanup.
Reporter Sacha Shipway at Taree:
“Blue skies are aiding efforts today as a helicopter has just landed in Taree to be loaded with supplies to bring to isolated residents near Gloucester and Wingham.”
Hunter Region 
Reporter Madison Scott at Singleton:
“Rose Point and Cook Parks at Singleton are inundated with flood waters. The Hunter River is still rising – expected to peak at 12.16m around 5am tomorrow. Many residents in Singleton’s low lying areas are on an evacuation warning.”
Reporter Sam Burbury at Corlette, Port Stephens:
“Still plenty of water flowing through what was once a culvert on Foreshore Drive.”
