CALLS TO EXTEND AIRFARE SUBSIDY PROGRAM TO THE NORTH COAST

A week after the federal government unveiled its billion-dollar airfare subsidy initiative, the state’s peak business body is calling for the program to be expanded.

Business New South Wales Regional Manager, Jane Laverty, says she hopes North Coast locations will be added to the current list of just 13 destinations.

“Some of our businesses, sole traders and particular niche areas haven’t faired so well and that’s what we’re looking at now, we want everyone to be part of this economic recovery,” Ms Laverty said.

The government is open to adding more locations in the coming weeks.
