ROUS COUNTY COUNCIL TO ADOPT NEW WATER STRATEGY, WITHOUT THE DAM

A new water plan was up for debate at Rous County Council’s extraordinary meeting today.
Chair Keith Williams brought forward the new Future Water Project 2060 Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy.
It outlines new plans to secure the region’s water supply to 2060, without the proposed Dunoon Dam.
“The new plan is a mix of a groundwater strategy we’ve had in place since 2014, and we’ve also added in, as potential future options, recycled water in a variety of schemes,” Chair of Rous County Council, Keith Williams, said.
The motion was passed unanimously.
The plan will now be up for feedback from April.
