A man has died and an elderly woman is in John Hunter Hospital after a crash in the Hunter Valley this morning.
Emergency services were called to McDonalds Road, Pokolbin just after 10 o’clock this morning, after reports a car had left the road and crashed into trees.
The couple, aged in their 70s were treated at the scene, before the woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
Sadly, the man died at the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
