CARRINGTON BOWLING CLUB INSTALLING NEW SOLAR SYSTEM

Summer sports could be the next victim of climate change, with the Climate Council predicting they’ll stop within 20 years, if temperatures keep rising.
Carrington Bowling Club for one was forced to close for 33 days in 2019 as the mercury climbed into the 40s.
But it’s changing with the times, installing a $50,000 solar system to benefit the environment, and bowlers.
“They are all of that age group where they shouldn’t be out in the heat and the ability for them to come inside in a cool environment because we’ve had the solar system put on, really makes a difference.” – Jaci Lappin, Carrington Bowling Club.
The system was partly-funded by the community and has cut the club’s electricity bill in half.
