From mattresses to everyday household items, that’s what lies ahead for more than a thousand used beds as part of a Maitland recycling program.
Beds of all sizes and materials were dropped off at the Mount Vincent Waste Facility this weekend, as part of the Mattress Muster.
The mattresses will be broken down and re-purposed into items such as woodchips, scrap metal and carpet.
Another Mattress Muster will be held next Saturday.
