MARINE RESCUE URGES BOATIES TO PLAY IT SAFE IF IN DOUBT
Marine Rescue volunteers are urging those heading on the water to stay vigilant in blustery conditions this week, after a man in his 50s died on Lake Macquarie yesterday.
He was on a yacht off Wangi Point when he was knocked overboard by a boom.
“We brought the vessel in to Wangi caravan park, where we were met by paramedics and the doctor from the Westpac helicopter.” – Malcolm Druce, Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie.
The man couldn’t be revived; police are investigating the tragic incident.
