PUBLIC SUBMISSIONS REVEAL SIGNIFICANT OBJECTION TO NUNDLE WIND FARM

Public submissions to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment have revealed significant opposition to the proposed Nundle wind farm project.

Power company Engie plans to build the 70-turbine farm on the village’s ‘Hills of Gold’.

But, of the 632 submissions recieved, only 36 percent were in favour of the project, with the majority fearing it could lower land values.

If approved, the wind farm would create more than 600 jobs and generate enough electricity to power 185,000 homes.
