Today marks 16 years since German backpacker, Simone Strobel, was last seen alive in Lismore.
The 25-year-old’s body was found hidden under palm fronds at a sportsground near the Lismore caravan park, where she’d been staying.
No charges have ever been laid over Miss Strobel’s murder, with a million dollar reward for information still on the table.
A second coronial inquest into her death will be held later this year.
