ALLEGED TORBAY PRISON VISIT INVESTIGATION IN QUESTION

The New South Wales Police Integrity Commission’s decision not to investigate claims that embattled former politician Richard Torbay secretly visited a prisoner alongside former police Superintendent David Cushway in 2007 has been questioned.
It’s alleged the pair visited property developer Phillip Hanna, who was charged with the attempted murder of a business partner.
The meeting was allegedly not recorded at Superintendent Cushway’s request.
A parliamentary committee looking into the Police Integrity Commission has questioned the handling of complaints made by police against other officers.
A committee member has referred the matter to the commission’s inspector.
