FORMER DEPUTY PM DOUG ANTHONY FAREWELLED AT STATE FUNERAL

Former deputy Prime Minister and Nationals leader, Doug Anthony, has been farewelled at a state funeral in Tweed Heads this morning.

Mr Anthony served as the Member for Richmond in parliament for more than 26 years.

The 90-year-old died peacefully at his home in Murwillumbah just days before Christmas.

He’s been remembered as a man of great strength and decency.
