CONCERNS FOR PROPOSED COOKS HILL DEVELOPMENT

The community has one more day to comment on a $32-million development slated for the Bimet Lodge site at Cooks Hill.

Developer, Parkway Accommodation, wants to build 107 units as well as a boarding house up to four storeys high, boasting 112 rooms.

Residents are concerned about parking, the height of the building and that it won’t keep with the character of Cooks Hill.

“The fact that developer wants concessions in relation to a number of development standards doesn’t seem to make sense when we’ve got civic leaders crying out for the renewal of the city, we’ve got so many degraded sites there.”
