An elderly woman has had a lucky escape, walking away uninjured after she accidentally reversed her car into – of all things – an eyewear shop in Taree this morning.
Police say she was trying to park along Manning Street, when she accelerated over the kerb.
Her Ford sedan knocked down two hand-rails, before slamming into the shop’s side window.
The car pushed a stand containing around $20,000 worth of glasses, but none were damaged.
