An 18-year-old boy has been hospitalised after being seriously assaulted at a house party in Harrington, near Taree.
On New Year’s Eve, police received a number of noise complaints from neighbours near the party.
Around 1am, officers visited the property, shutting down the party after directions to be quiet were ignored.
Emergency services were called once again at 3am following reports of a teenage boy being assaulted.
He was treated at the scene and later taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for further treatment.
An investigation is now underway into the circumstances.
Anyone who attended the party is urged to come forward if they have footage of the incident.
They should contact Manning / Great Lakes Police District or Crime Stoppers.
